Fundraising via the BigHeart platform is a powerful way to reach out to an already existing network to solicit donations via the app or even outside the app. This article shows you how to set up a campaign and distribute it via the BigHeart app as an Admin.
- First, click on the Campaigns menu in the left navigation.
- On the Dashboard tab, you can see current campaigns in your communities, payment history, and campaign creation. To create a campaign, click on the Dashboard tab, click "Current Campaigns," and then "New Campaign" in near the top right corner.
- Next, click "New Campaign".
- A popup will appear. Upload a captivating campaign photo that illustrates what the campaign is about.
- Give the campaign a title and description. You can put in links and rich text in this field.
- Next, select the community to post it in. We recommend a community with many followers such as a general public community which is automatically created for your organization when being a BigHeart customer.
- Next, set your payment amounts.
- Set your subscription plans. We recommend giving the users as many options as possible.
- Finally, set the monetary goal for the campaign, so users can follow along in the countdown.
- Lastly, set Apple Pay as a payment method along with Braintree (credit and debit card processing) and a start and end date (note that these can always be extended.)
- Click "Start Campaign" and you're off. You can even pin as a post.
- You can always go to the "Campaigns" screen and click the three dots at the top right of your campaign to edit it.
Spreading the Word
By default, users of the BigHeart app will be notified of your campaign as soon as it launches as well as get status reminders along the way. Users will be able to share their donation status via social media and it will come with a link for others to donate. You can also share a link to potential external donors that doesn't require sign-in to BigHeart by clicking "Copy to Clipboard" under the campaign details. Then, simply paste the link wherever relevant (marketing, emails, social media etc.) to spread the word!
