This quick guide will take you through all the steps you need to attend a virtual event on BigHeart.

Before the Virtual Event
1. Most likely, someone invited you to the virtual event. Click on the "checkmark" button inside the BigHeart platform on the events page to register for the event.
Once clicked, the button will turn green. This button will turn into a "Join" button when the event opens up.
2. Before the day of the virtual event, please test your system and review our System Requirements Check List before attending any event to make sure you're ready. Always join BigHeart events via Chrome browser or the mobile app when possible.
Top Tips for a Stress-Free Virtual Event
1. Be sure you are connected to the strongest and most reliable internet access or cellular data available. If you are on a phone, it is best to connect to known work or home WIFI—public WIFI such as a coffee shop or library is notoriously spotty and unstable. Home and work WIFI performance can also suffer based on network traffic and other factors. If you are on a computer, plug in via ethernet as opposed to WIFI if possible.
2. When prompted, click “Allow” to allow access to your mic and camera. If the admin has allowed it and you would like to share your mic or camera, use the camera icon to turn on your camera and mic. If you only want to turn on your mic, just click the microphone icon. If you wish to change your camera or microphone settings, click the "settings" icon.
- A lag or a black box where an attendee’s camera feed should be are indications of sub-optimal connection. If you experience this, you can reduce bandwidth requirements by reducing the number of video feeds or discontinuing use of screen sharing, video sharing or slide sharing.
When the Event is about to Start
1. Use your email invitation to take you to the event. You get 3 reminders via email with instructions on how to attend and a link to the event.
2. You can also go to the app and click "events" to go to the event list. If you're on a desk- or laptop computer, open Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. If you're on a phone or tablet, you must enter through our app.

3. Once you click to enter, you will be in the virtual event room. If the host has allowed you and other attendees to share your webcam or microphone, you will be prompted to turn on your webcam and microphone when entering the room.
After the Event (Watch the recording)
The recording will post to the event "About" page and will have a video camera icon next to the recorded event - this will be found under "Events" and then "Past" events. If you registered for the conference, you will be alerted by a notification when the recording is available.
